Section 1 – Pastor
a) In the event of vacancy in the office of Pastor of this church, the Deacon Board and Elder Board shall act as a pulpit committee, and after prayerfully seeking to know the mind of God and carefully choosing the best counsel available, shall select a Scripturally-qualified minister credentialed with the Assemblies of God as a nominee to the office of Pastor, and present his name for the vote of the membership of this church. The committee should seek the advice and counsel of the local Sectional Presbyter and the Superintendent of the District Council.

Pastoral Search Process:
The Pulpit Committee meets on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 pm with the option for additional, more frequent meetings, as required. Regular business at meetings consists of prayerful discussion of resume’s that have been submitted for consideration, discussion of information obtained from references, and conducting phone interviews with potential candidates.
Steps in the Process:
The Pulpit Committee receives resume’s from qualified persons and prayerfully considers the qualifications of these persons. Prayerful, thoughtful, and thorough discussion of each applicant is conducted at committee meetings. The successful end of this process will result in a candidate being brought before the membership for election as our new Pastor.
Where We Are in the Process:
The Pulpit Committee has received resume’s and we are in the process of evaluating these. As additional resume’s may be received, each will receive the same prayerful consideration.
What Can I Do?:
PRAY! This is your church and the Pulpit Committee asks for your participation in this process by praying with us and for us as we move the process forward. To this end, we are opening the church during each pulpit committee meeting for prayer. Please consider a sacrifice of your time to pray for us during our meetings!
If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. II Chr 7:14
