WORSHIP/ CREATIVE ARTS PASTOR/DIRECTOR: Description
First Assembly of God is looking for someone passionate for God, with skills to lead worship and
develop the worship/ music ministry and develop and oversee media ministry.
Worship Ministry Objectives:
• Worship is to be genuine and authentic
• Worship must be God-centered
• Worship must be Holy Spirit sensitive - We will provide room in the worship set to allow for the
gifts of the Holy Spirit to be in operation.
• Holy Spirit led - Prayerful planning of the worship set for each Sunday is vital to Holy Spirit led
worship.
• Communication with the Lead Pastor about worship each week (staff Mtg.) helps maintain clear
vision.
Sunday Worship Responsibilities:
• Plan and Prepare Sunday Worship Set
• Schedule people for Sunday morning service on Planning Center Online: Worship band/vocals,
and computer. Try to schedule 1-2 months at a time.
Video: Produce Video Announcements for Sunday service/ Supervise volunteers
Announcement videos, special event videos, TV & Internet commercials.
Create video segments for website and lobby monitors.
Sound:
Set up rooms as needed with adequate sound systems and make sure we use equipment on
hand or purchase necessary equipment needed for a sound system depending on the particular
room/application.
Graphics:
Create graphics for website, video announcements, life groups, banners/signage (Office staff also
creates graphics frequently).
Special Services:
Prepare special service elements: special worship video, program lighting, writing & Recording:
In 2021 we recorded a song for each month and released it on our website for people to listen to
and download. We also spent time writing songs individually or in a cowrite with other people.
(This is not a necessity, but a skill that is desired.)
Team Development:
Host team nights throughout the year to show appreciation to the team and help them to build
relationships with one another and encourage them in their calling as worship team members.
It has also been important to recognize when our sound/media team could benefit from more
training, a follow up email from a Sunday service (if something needs to be adjusted/improved).
In the past we also did training for our vocalists using Judy Rodman’s Power Path and
Performance material that is currently uploaded to the church dropbox folder and on PCO under
“vocal development resources”.
Fine Arts: An annual ministry through the Assemblies of God that encourages students to find
and use their gifts and talents.
Help to encourage and guide fine arts students. Helped with Songwriting, worship team,
vocalists, etc. This is normally done in collaboration with the Youth Pastor’s direction.
Events:
Help to set up sound, lighting, stage, etc. for special events at the church. Help to provide music
for Vacation Bible School (including making special music tracks and/or videos to play during
worship time), etc.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
• Must be a born-again follower of Jesus Christ, living a life of integrity and high moral character.
• Be diligent in Bible reading and prayer - personal devotions
• Be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit
• Be gifted musically & able to lead a worship band.
• Have an outgoing personality with the ability to lead people.
• Proficient with Planning Center Online to schedule team and post worship lists for services.
• Teach and develop new worship music
• Ability to encourage, teach and develop the talents of children, youth and adults for ministry.
• Be proficient in using Pro-Presenter.
• Bachelors degree in music
Salary/ Benefits: $46,000 - $58,000 Health Insurance 80-20% Retirement 3% match
Paid Vacation Continuing Education/ Conferences
Cell Phone plan is paid by church and family members can join for $59 per month.
